Privacy Policy
Last updated October 23, 2026
The short version: we collect only what a church app needs to work. We never sell your information or show ads. Prayer requests are visible only to you and your church's pastors and admins. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers.
Who we are
ChurchForUs is a service operated by Evoke Musik LLC, a Maryland limited liability company ("ChurchForUs", "we", "us"). We provide branded apps to churches. This policy covers our website (churchforus.com), every church app we host (for example yourchurch.churchforus.com, a church's own domain, and our iPhone and Android apps), and our staff tools.
When you use your church's app, your church decides what information it collects and how it uses it, and we process that information on the church's behalf. Questions about how your church uses your information are best sent to your church. You can always contact us too.
Information we collect
- Account details: your email address, and a name and phone number if you add them. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email; we don't use passwords. Your church's pastors and admins can see your name, email and phone so they can stay in touch with you.
- Activity: the date you last opened your church's app and which months you used it, so your church can see how many members are active. We also count app opens per church per day without recording who opened it.
- Daily devotional: your reminder time and time zone if you set one. A private journal answer is readable only by you; not your church, not ChurchForUs. If your church turns on its "feelings pulse", the feelings you open are counted as weekly totals with no name or account attached, and totals under 5 are never shown.
- Your church connection: which church you belong to and your role (member, pastor or admin).
- What you choose to send: prayer requests (written or recorded), testimonies and videos, sign-up forms (for example water baptism or membership), feedback and event responses.
- Notifications: if you turn on notifications, a device address from your browser or phone and the topics you chose.
- Giving: if your church takes gifts in the app, Stripe processes the payment. We receive the amount, fund, date, whether it repeats, and the giver's name and email so the church can send receipts and statements. We never receive card or bank numbers.
- Preferences: your language and light or dark mode, stored on your device.
- Church staff and customers: billing contact details and subscription status (payments handled by Stripe), and anything you enter in our demo request form.
- Technical logs: limited request logs kept by our hosting providers for security and troubleshooting.
We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't build profiles of you for marketing.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your church's content, deliver your requests to your church, send the notifications you asked for, and sign you in.
- To process gifts and subscriptions through Stripe.
- To send service emails, such as sign-in codes, staff invitations, receipts and billing notices.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and improve it.
- To respond when you contact us or ask for a demo.
We never sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for others' advertising.
Prayer requests
A prayer request can be read only by the member who sent it and by that church's pastors and admins. Other members and other churches can't see it, and ChurchForUs accounts are blocked from it in the app itself. These rules are enforced inside the database, not only in the app's screens. Churches can choose to have requests delete themselves automatically after 90 days, six months or a year, and church admins can delete a request at any time.
As with any hosted service, a small number of people who maintain our infrastructure could technically access stored data. We never read prayer requests, and we would access stored data only to keep the service running or when the law requires it.
Who we share it with
Only with the providers that help us run the service, under contracts that limit their use of the data:
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and sign-in |
| Cloudflare | Hosting, file storage (photos, audio, voice prayers) and the "translate automatically" tool for staff |
| Emailit | Sending sign-in codes, invitations and service emails |
| Gumlet | Hosting uploaded sermon and testimony videos |
| Stripe | Processing gifts and subscription payments |
| Apple, Google and browser makers | Delivering push notifications you turned on |
| YouTube (if your church uses it) | Playing livestreams and sermons the church links |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business (with this policy continuing to apply).
How long we keep it
We keep information while your account or your church's subscription is active. When a church leaves, we can export its content and then delete it within 90 days. Gift records may be kept longer where tax or financial rules require. Backups roll off on their own schedule.
Your choices and rights
- Withdraw or delete what you've sent where the app allows, or ask your church's admin.
- Turn notifications off at any time in the app's Settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account, by emailing hello@churchforus.com. We'll confirm the request with you and with your church where needed.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR, Nigeria's Data Protection Act or California's privacy law. We honor them.
Children
Church apps are meant for adults and for families managing their own accounts. They are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without a parent's consent. Churches agree not to invite children under 13 to create accounts. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We encrypt data in transit, keep each church's information separate from every other church's, and limit who can access production systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected churches and people as the law requires if something goes wrong.
Where data is stored
Our providers store and process data in the United States and other countries. When information moves across borders, we rely on our providers' legal safeguards for those transfers.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and tell churches before the change takes effect.
